💸 Several Indian banks including SBI, PNB, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and DCB Bank have raised their fixed deposit (FD) rates in February, aiming to attract depositors who are looking for better returns amid the current economic climate. With inflation concerns rising, many savers are turning to fixed deposits as a reliable investment option.

The FD rate hike is seen as a response to the recent surge in inflation and the Reserve Bank of India's decision to keep interest rates unchanged in its latest monetary policy review. Here are some of the highlights of the recent FD rate hikes:

  • State Bank of India (SBI) has raised its interest rates on fixed deposits by up to 25 basis points.

  • Punjab National Bank (PNB) has increased its FD rates by up to 30 basis points with the top rate of 7.25% for the average Joe

  • Kotak Mahindra Bank has hiked its rates on deposits as well, much to the delight of senior citizens who now enjoy 7.7% on their bank stash

  • DCB Bank tops the current FD charts with 7:85% as standard and 8.25% for the elderly
